JUNIOR QUALITY EDUCATION EXPO 2023
The educational sector of Hong Kong has demonstrated unexpected interest in ESG, according to Hanin Group, an innovative apparel manufacturer which exhibited its sustainable school uniform choice in the JUNIOR QUALITY EDUCATION EXPO on 9-11 June.
ESG, which stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, is becoming an increasingly important consideration for schools to address. Here are a few reasons according to Hanin:
1. Responsibility: Schools have a responsibility to educate the next generation about the importance of sustainability and social responsibility. By incorporating ESG principles into their operations and curriculum, schools can model responsible behavior and prepare students to become responsible global citizens.
2. Reputation: Schools that demonstrate a commitment to ESG principles can enhance their reputation and appeal to students, parents, and faculty who are increasingly concerned about these issues.
3. Risk management: Environmental, social, and governance risks can have a significant impact on a school's financial and operational performance. By addressing these risks proactively, schools can minimize the potential impact of ESG-related issues on their operations and finances.
4. Compliance: Schools are subject to a range of laws and regulations related to ESG issues, including environmental regulations, labor laws, and anti-discrimination laws. By integrating ESG considerations into their governance structures and operations, schools can ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
